The royal couple were the guests of honor at the BAFTA Brits to Watch gala yesterday night in Los Angeles. Jessica was there among some other famous names such as Tom Hanks, Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez, Paul Rudd, Jennifer Garner, Elizabeth Banks, Kristin Chenoweth, Nicole Kidman, Jason Bateman, Chris Evans, Derek Hough, Dana Delany, Jack Black, Elisabeth Moss, Maria Bello, Barbra Streisand, Zooey Deschanel, Mary-Louise Parker and Ginnifer Goodwin. British rising stars Talulah Riley, Juno Temple, Nicholas Hoult, Dominic Cooper and Ed Westwick were also present.
“If you brought Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe back to life America wouldn’t be more excited than they are by the presence of the Cambridges,” said Stephen Fry, one of the 300 guests at the event.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are fans of Downton Abbey, Miss Brown-Findlay discovered. “They’re so relaxed. I was very pleased to hear that they’d seen the show I was on,” she said. “Kate is so beautiful and can handle herself so well. I’m someone who tends to fall over my own words but she’s so calm and relaxed. Good going! I wouldn’t be able to do it.
“I’ve a funny feeling I’ll get home and think ‘did that even happen?’”
